The African Leadership Development Centre (ALDC), Covenant University specially invites you to her Career and Professional Women Conference (CPWC) in Covenant University scheduled to hold from May 15th - 16th, 2018 at the African Leadership Development Centre (ALDC). The conference, tailor-made for women in Academia, Business, Industry and Ministry, has been themed “Beyond the Glass Ceiling”.

The participants at this 2-day conference will be greatly empowered and enabled to interrogate and dismantle the shackles of the status-quo, going on to reconstruct new identities by becoming adequately equipped and situated to scale new heights in their respective fields of endeavour.

The goal of the Career and Professional Women Conference (CPWC) is to highlight and stir up solutions to gender parity issues within the context of the Nigerian and African societies thereby sparking off conversations that will bridge the gender gap across different sectors of the society.

Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili is a Public Policy Analyst / Senior Economic Advisor, Africa Economic Development Policy Initiative (AEDPI) and CoFounder of #BringBackOurGirls Movement. A Chartered Accountant/Consultant, she holds an MA in International Law and Diplomacy, as well as in Public Policy and Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She is a founding Director of Transparency International, was Vice President of World Bank (Africa Region) and former Nigerian Minister of Education as well as Minister of Solid Minerals..

She was decorated with the Highest medal in Nigeria, the national award of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) in 2006. Serving on numerous local and international organizations’ boards, she has been recognized as one of the Time-100 Most Influential People and by New York Times as one of the 25 Women of Impact for 2015.


Olubunmi Aboderin-Talabi is a printer, publisher, writer, photo enthusiast, the Chairperson, Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ) a member of the Advisory Board for the art, culture, lifestyle and education center, TERRA KULTURE. She was the first Managing Director of Punch Commercial Printing Ltd and is currently a non-Executive Director of the parent company, Punch Nigeria Limited, serving on the board for over 23 years.

Olubunmi has also given talks nationally and internationally on a range of topics including business strategy; corporate branding; six sigma; effective communication; business continuity; problem-solving; critical reasoning; goal setting; life skills; human values; employee productivity and gender issues.



Professor Comfort Memfin Ekpo  became the fourth substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo and the first female to hold the position. She made significant contributions in repositioning the University for greater levels of excellence, academically and human resource-wise, having literally risen through the ranks over a 27 year period. A professing Professor, her publications are reckoned with globally, and she has contributed immensely to knowledge creation with several innovative courseware packages to her credit. She has served in numerous public offices in the course of her career. Internationally honoured, she has won a plethora of prestigious awards, including the Woman of the Year 2004 Award by the American Biographical Institute and Board of International Research, USA, 2004, and Distinguished Award for Best Performance in the Nigerian Public Service for the year, 2003.


Audrey Joe-Ezigbo is the co-founder and executive director, Falcon Corporations, a member of the Executive Council of the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA). She is a mentor on the formal Mentoring programs of Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University; Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ); Apostles in the Market Place (AiMP), and the Federal Government of Nigeria YouWin Women mentoring program, amongst others. She is a prolific writer, blogger, and published author of two books – ‘Double Impact’ and ’Uniquely Woman’


Kemi Onabanjo is a graduate of Computer Science from Covenant University and holds an MBA from INSEAD in France where she was selected to be the valedictorian for her class. She is the Senior Engagement Manager with a leading global management consulting firm- McKinsey & Company. She is a pioneer Mandela Washington Fellow of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative, an Associate of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative and a pioneer mentee of the WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business and Public Service) mentoring program. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees for HOPE (Helping Other People Excel), a Charity organization run by Covenant University Eagles.
